Welcome to the Bristol and West of England Consortium for Continuing Professional Development in Aerospace (CPDA)


The University of the West of England is now the lead University for the CPDA and apart from existing students, awards are only offered by the University of the West of England. The CPDA is no longer able to accept new applications for the University of Bristol Awards however new applications for the UWE Awards are welcome to apply. Please note that this website will not reflect all of the changes to the programme and these will be included within the new website to be launched in Spring 2010. For further information please contact the CPDA Office. The Bristol and West of England Continuing Professional Development in Aerospace (CPDA) programme is a part time professional postgraduate programme aimed at people working in industry.

The CPDA is a partnership between industry and higher education, led by the University of the West of England, Bristol (UWE), with specialist external providers such as the University of Bristol.

The organisations involved in the programme include: Airbus UK, Agusta Westland, Marshall Aerospace, MoD, Rolls-Royce Plc, QinetiQ to name but a few.

We offer a flexible range of part time study options: short courses; bespoke tailor made modules; and Postgraduate awards at Certificate, Diploma, and Master’s (MSc.)

The Department of Mechanical Engineering (UoB)

Modules are offered across the topic areas of Aerospace, Design, Manufacture and Management. Subject areas include Systems, Airworthiness, Business, Sustainability
