Postgraduate Certificate
in Aerospace, Design, Manufacture and Management (UoB)
This can be awarded on the successful completion of six modules including a pass
in all six post-module assignments. A balance of technical and management modules
is expected, preferably with at least one module from each subject area: Aerospace;
Design; Manufacture and Management. For details of module categories please see
the list of modules. A minimum of three
modules run by the University of Bristol must be taken.
Postgraduate Diploma
in Aerospace, Design, Manufacture and Management (UoB)
This can be awarded on the successful completion of twelve modules including
a pass in all twelve post-module assignments. As noted above a balance of technical
and management modules is expected, including at least one module from each
subject area. A minimum of six modules run by the University of Bristol must
be taken.
MSc in Aerospace,
Design, Manufacture and Management (UoB)
This can be awarded on the successful completion of twelve modules - including
a pass in all twelve post-module assignments and the project. Again, as noted
above a balance of technical and management modules is expected, including
at least one module from each subject area. The final selection may depend
on the project subject area chosen. A minimum of three modules run by the University
of Bristol must be taken and the project must be supervised by an academic
from the University awarding the degree. The modules are worth 60% and project
40% of the overall assessment. The MSc can be given with commendation.
Eng.D
This can be awarded on the successful achievement of 540 credit
points. This involves the completion of a number of taught modules,
depending on the entry
stage of the delegate and a research project. In general, it requires 180 academic
credits’ worth of taught units, chosen from a wide range of technical
and business subjects, mostly at Masters level. This includes a pass in all
post module assignments.
There are a number of doctorate level modules available, from the Engineering
Management Eng.D run at the University of Bristol. These are specifically for
use as part of the Eng.D programme and are not offered to Masters students.
Only 60 credits worth of level D modules will count towards the Eng.D. Further
details on these modules can be found on the Engineering Management website
by clicking here.
Delegates who have already
gained a Masters degree through the CPDA may use these 180 credit
points as part of their Eng.D programme. They would then need
to focus on the project, worth 360 credit points.
The research component of the Eng.D will be a project dissertation, of PhD
standard, focusing on a strategic problem or issue in the Aerospace sector.
It is a substantial piece of work, requiring approximately 3600 hours to complete.
To help the delegate understand the requirements of a research dissertation,
it is supported by a Research Methodology workshop. For further information
see the Eng.D
brochure and Eng.D
Route Map.
Note:
- For all awards delegates
enrolled on the programme should propose a programme of modules
which reflects their needs for professional development: career
aspirations, personal education and if appropriate, sponsoring
organisations requirements.
- Distinctions are awarded
to MSc candidates who achieve a module average of 70% or above,
plus 70% or above in the project, not an overall average of 70%+.
