International Delegates
The CPDA has a large number of international delegates from
all over the globe from as far and wide as South Korea, Australia,
Singapore, Indonesia, United Arab Emirates and South Africa to a little
nearer to home such as Greece, Germany, France, the Republic of Ireland
and
the
UK.
Hopefully
this
page will provide
you with all the information and guidance you need whilst studying
on the CPDA. Delegates are welcome to use the support
services at both Universities, except in special circumstances where
they may only be enroled at one University.
The University of Bristol
The University of Bristol's International Student Advisory Service
provides advice and support on everything you need to know about
studying in
Bristol, accommodation, welfare, English Language support, visas
and financial matters. Click here. to be taken to their home page
where there is also a copy of the International Handbook for you
to download.
For non-native speakers of English, a range of pre-sessional and in-sessional
courses are available through the University's Language
Centre. These
provide tuition in English for academic purposes and study skills.
Pre-sessional
programmes
last
for four,
eight or twelve weeks depending on proficiency in English. The Centre
also provides the IELTS examination and offers diagnostic testing
in English at the beginning of each academic year.

Through the Language
Centre at the University of the West of England
there are a wide range of materials available including: books; audiotapes;
films
(with
and
without
subtitles);
documentaries;
CD-ROMS;
newspapers;
periodicals; satellite TV (including all-day news broadcasts in five
languages.) Also provide are free audio tapes copying service and
a conversation exchange scheme. Full-time Language Centre staff are

Accommodation
Accommodation for delegates who require it will be arranged
by the CPDA Secretary who will contact you with a list of appropriate
accommodation
available and to find out your arrival and departure times.
Proof reading of assignments and dissertations
There are a number of tutors available privately to proof
read assignments and dissertations for a fee. This information has
been provided by the Language Centre at the University of Bristol but
tutors must be contacted directly and not through the Language Centre.

The CPDA Office
If required the CPDA Office can arrange for notes for
modules to be provided prior to the module running and/or lectures
to be taped.
International delegates sometimes struggle when they first begin
the CPDA programme, often due to language difficulties. Module Leaders
are always very approachable and willing to help. If you are
struggling then please contact them for guidance.
