The Modules
This section is for enrolled delegates who have received
University Library/ID cards.
Over 35 modules are offered as part of the CPDA programme within the
areas of Aerospace, Design, Manufacture and Management. 95% of these
modules are held in Bristol. The main venues being the University of
the West of England, University of Bristol and Swansea University.
The modules are run on a one week basis (Monday-Friday) unless stated
otherwise. Each module amounts to 100hrs of work. The breakdown of
time spent on each module is along the lines of 10-15 hours on pre-module
work, 35 hours of module including: lectures, case studies, presentations,
discussions and group work and 55 hours on the Post Module Assignment
(PMA).
Delegates should have completed the three year booking
form with their application form when first
joining
the
CPDA.
It is then
sent out once a year thereafter, usually in
the
spring.
This form states the delegate's module preferences for that academic
year, and provides an indication of the modules that they plan to take
for
the
following two years. The CPDA recognises that some of these
future bookings can only be provisional. Please note that the booking
form
is not a
guarantee of which modules will be running each year as each module
programme depends upon overall delegate preference.
Once all the forms have been returned, the
module programme which commences in September will be produced and
sent to all delegates. We do try to accommodate delegate requests but
if there is not enough interest for particular modules then these are
unlikely to be included in the programme. However if a delegate wishes
to attend a specific module which does not appear on the programme
and they are unable to wait until the following year, then they are
advised to inform their company
training manager as well as the CPDA Office. We can not
make any promises but may be able to reinstate the module if your company
and others can provide us with enough bookings.
If a delegate changes their mind about module bookings following the
completion of the booking form or if they are unsure about the choices
they have made
and would like some advice then they are advised to contact the CPDA
Office.
If modules are being selected
as part of a Certificate, Diploma, MSc or Eng.D programme then the principle
considerations listed under awards need to be noted.
