Resubmitting the Project
The University of Bristol Regulations
The University of Bristol’s regulations state that if a delegate
fails to achieve a pass mark but receives a mark of at least 30%, they
may resubmit the dissertation within three months of the first assessment.
If a delegate fails as a result of mitigating circumstances, their
resubmission will be counted as a first submission. Both the delegate
and their Academic Supervisor are expected to submit a letter of support
in this
case. However, if there are no mitigating circumstances and
the student receives a pass on resubmission, the mark will be capped
to 50%. Students are only allowed to resubmit the dissertation once.
The University
of the West of England
The University of the West of England’s regulations state that
delegates are permitted only one attempt at a Masters dissertation,
unless the award board accepts their extenuating circumstances and
permits another attempt. Where students are referred to the second
assessment opportunity, a maximum period of twelve months is permitted
for the resubmission of the dissertation.
Delegates should refer to the regulations of the University that is
awarding their degree. It is possible for students to appeal against
their marks. All queries should be directed in the first instance to
the CPDA Office.
For further
details of the complaints/appeals procedure please refer to Q.IG.3,
Complaints, Appeals, Race, Disability and Harassment Policy. All
queries should be directed in the first instance to the CPDA Office.
