The CPDA Joint Examination Board
The Joint Examination Board is held twice a year in October
and May.
Membership
- Chairman: This role alternates between the University of West of
England Senior Representative from the Faculty of Computing,
Engineering and
Mathematical Sciences and the University of Bristol Senior Representative
from the Faculty of Engineering.
- Two External Examiners
- CPDA Director
- CPDA Co-ordinator
- Secretary: the CPDA Administrator (F,D,M)
- CPDA Administrator (R&M)
- CPDA Administrator (UWE)
- Field Group Leaders from each Faculty
/ Department supporting CPDA (or nominee)
- Project Supervisors (or nominee)
- Module Leaders who have had issues raised about their modules (or
nominee)
- Other academic members of staff of either university may be invited
to attend at the discretion of the Chairman.
Principal tasks
The board shall:
- review the assignment marks from each module completed since the
previous Examination Board, including any resubmissions and late
submissions;
- confirm the final marks for each module;
- review the project marks
submitted by the project supervisors and second markers, plus the
External Examiner’s report;
- confirm the final marks for each project;
- agree the final awards to be made to delegates who have successfully
completed the Eng.D, MSc, Diploma and Certificate requirements;
- forward all recommendations to the relevant CPDA Consortium
University for final approval and notification of awards;
- review the operation of the CPDA to ensure it meets all
academic requirements;
- make recommendations for improvements
to the Academic Management Committee (AMC).
Please note that all assignment marks are subject to the approval
of the Examination Board. If any amendments are made to the
marks then the delegate will be informed following the meeting.
All UoB
awards are taken through the Graduate Studies
Committee (GSC) following the Exam Board for final approval.
